For universities and research groups
Methodological expertise is as valuable as infrastructure. A research team could help define the question, design a pilot, review country comparisons or study how the published score affects participation. The research brief sets out concrete starting points and the data currently available.
We welcome collaboration that produces an intelligible public methods note as well as academic outputs. Explaining the limits of an index should be part of the contribution, not an afterthought.
For companies and technology teams
Useful contributions could include hosting resources, accessible interface work, security review, data-quality tooling or support for maintaining a reproducible archive. Before accepting a technical contribution, we would agree its scope, ownership, operating cost and maintenance responsibilities.
This is not an offer of access to a private audience database. Newsletter addresses are collected for the launch newsletter, and are not a partnership deliverable. We do not offer participant-level targeting or a finished commercial sentiment product.
For newsrooms and independent publishers
The archive offers a distinctive digital-history story and a practical case study in how numbers are communicated. Journalists can begin with the public source-linked collection and our press bibliography. We welcome corrections and additional original coverage.
A collaborative editorial project could investigate the history of online rating culture or explain the difference between a participant signal and a representative poll. Coverage should retain the distinction between historical claims and current activity.
For sponsors
Financial or in-kind support could fund concrete work: archive preservation, hosting, accessibility, translations or an independently designed research pilot. See the sponsorship invitation for the proposed principles and a simple briefing checklist.
We do not promise a particular index outcome, audience size or research conclusion in return for support. A partnership should make the evidence easier to inspect, not give a partner control over it.
Bring us your idea
If you have another collaboration idea, we would love to hear it. Write to info@ratethegod.com with the intended outcome, your contribution, an approximate timeline and any dependencies. We can then define a realistic first step.
